“Seriously, Ela . . .?” Michael sighed grimly.

“What . . .? It just happened . . .” Erela shrugged casually, a tint of pink on her cheeks. Michael approached Erela when he saw she and Landon holding hands again. The werewolf boy disappeared to the Hufflepuff common room while Michael gave a rather mixed look of annoyance and completely unsurprised when he stopped Erela in front of the Great Hall.

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE
Summer passed slowly, too slowly, and it would soon be over. It was nearing the last week of July. Almost Harry's birthday, which reminded him of Lexie. It'd be her birthday too. He'd been missing his girlfriend. He'd basically had zero contact with Lexie all summer, and the couple of messages they did manage to exchange were scarce in detail, since the Ministry was intercepting random posts. He stopped what he was doing and read the two letters for the hundredth time, since he'd received them.

Hiding in the muggle world,

It's sort of safer, for us at the moment.

Tobias was engaged in a shouting match with Eileen and Severus had confined himself to his room to avoid the beating his mother was sure to get. Severus opened the window and took a pack of cigarettes that he swiped from his dad and lit one up. As he blew out a puff, he heard the phone ring and dropped the cigarette in a startled manner. Severus picked up the phone knowing that his parents were probably too busy yelling at each other to get it. "Yes?"

"Severus?" asked a sweet heavenly voice which he immediately recognised.

Such a useless class..Nicole sat banging her head softly against the back wall of the back row in the dark tower classroom.
"Such." Bang "A." Bang "useless" Bang "Class." Bang

George and Fred snickered at the next table over, while her room mate, Lexi, sitting next to her, frowned. "It isn't useless!"
Nicole looked at her irritated "really?" She raised an eyebrow "Find me five good things about this class?"
Lexi paused. The silence dronnning on between the two girls.
"BAH! Ok. Nothing good comes out of this class."
Nicole was already back to banging her head against the wall. "Your just a suck up to teachers" AT this Lexi went red.

Broomsticks and TearsBroomsticks and Tears

Sorrow refused to fly.  It was really that simple.

She hated flying. HATED it!  She couldn't see the purpose of broomsticks.  There was floo powder and apparition and other means of travel (such as walking) that didn't involve being airborne and vulnerable to gravity.

Why was it a required subject at Hogwarts?

She tolerated (and excelled in) all classes, even History of Magic, which was perhaps the dreariest class she had ever experienced.  However, flying…flying was intolerable. Nevertheless, despite Sorrow's aversion to the act, it was still a reqBroomsticks and Tears by ~VixenPro

The Problem with Self Inserts The Problem with Self Inserts

There is nothing wrong with inserting yourself into a story. Like anything, it can be well done or... not so well done. The fact is, the majority of people who tend to write about self inserts happen to be beginners. Naturally, that causes there to be a pattern of certain, specific mistakes that are frequently found whilst reading anything on the internet. The purpose of this deviation isn't to say that self inserts are bad. I'm simply going to point out the most common mistakes that we usually encounter.

1. Making ourselves better than we really are.

Don't be fooled by the word "better." This can be replaced The Problem with Self Inserts by ~MakingFunOfStuff

Thank you all for your patience as of late. I know that we, the admins, have been particularly inactive lately, and we would like to thank you all greatly for sticking with us.

Just a few quick notes I'd like to make:

Folders
Lately, we have seen a drastic decrease in the amount of pieces submitted to the featured folder, and have instead been placed in the appropriate folders. Thank you all so much for that! It helps us all greatly in making it quicker and easier to find pieces

New Members
Wow, there are so many of you! I am working on catching up with greeting you individually, but I would also like to thank you all for joining us here too! Thank you!

And Finally...

We have officially hit our 1 year mark!

While this did happen a bit ago, we would just like to say thank you to everyone for sticking with us through this ear, and we hope that you will be with us for many more years to come! Thank you all so much for a great first year!

Oc stands for original character. It's a character you design that would go into a certain fandom. In the case of this group, it's a character you make up that would exist inside the Harry Potter realm.
